Playoff Rules
All regular season rules continue to be in effect, with the following additions:
The minimum number of players on the field to start the game shall be 7.
If any team is unable to field 7 players to start the game then the game will be recorded as a forfeit by that team.
Teams must be ready to start all games at assigned times and game will be forfeited by any team that is not ready to start within 10 minutes of that assigned time.
If the game is tied at the end of regulation there will be two overtime periods of 5 minutes with the teams changing ends at the “half” without leaving the field.
If the game remains tied at the end of overtime periods a penalty shoot-out will be used to determine the winner.
Penalty Shootout Rules
The players on the field at the end of the overtime period are the ONLY players eligible to participate in a shootout.
Each team presents 5 players plus their goalkeeper (if the goalkeeper is taking a kick a total of 5 is presented)
A player from team A will take a kick followed by a player from team B and will continue until all of these players have taken a kick or if it is impossible for a team to score the same amount of goals as the other team.
If the game is still tied after the original shoot out then each team will present five different players and the same type of shoot-out begins.
If the game is still tied at the end of this 2nd shoot out, the game will be decided by a “sudden death” shoot out. Beginning with the original 5 shooters a player from each team will take a kick. If only one player scores the game is over. If the score is tied continue shooting in pairs (one from each team) until one of the pair scores and the other misses.
